CompUSA charges back into Houston
Houston Business Journal - by Jennifer Dawson
CompUSA is re-entering the Houston market with a brand-new store after filing bankruptcy in 2007 and closing all of its Houston locations.
The electronics retailer signed a lease last week for space in Village Plaza at Bunker Hill, a 455,000-square-foot retail center at the northwest corner of Interstate 10 and Bunker Hill. The center is owned by Houston-based Fidelis Realty Partners Ltd. and BayNorth Capital LLC of Boston.
The store is expected to open by Black Friday — the day after Thanksgiving — which is typically the busiest shopping day of the year.
“They are aggressively trying to get open for the holiday season,” says Tami Pearson, a NAI Houston real estate broker who represents CompUSA.
